I guess CU uploads broke again. Happens often. Way back, I think Admin said it was something to do with the API.

Regarding compression, I agree. RMTeam should stop using x264 and switch to x265 only. Better, start using AV1 for big files.

I disagree on x265. My 12-year old laptop plays x265 just fine. So does my 13-year old Samsung TV. (To be fair, it needed a firmware update in 2013.)

I do go to other sites that zip/rar. Almost no size savings. Probably because video files are already compressed. Example, a re-encode I did in x264 is 101,928 KB. After rar, only 100,972.

@ snickerdoodle. Hi read your x265 comment. Not many TV's will play x265 unless you run them through a media player. None of my kids TVs will play x265 and their TVs are not that old so its strange really. x264 is still the most popular download by a long shot & I personally like that format. x265 when it 1st came out was going to so they said make files smaller but I never noticed that many & it sure hasn't taken off like they thought. Merry Xmas all hope you eat all ya veges lol

@snickerdoodle Again this is more about non Computer devices. Such as old Media Players or old TVs as pointed out above

No one will buy more expensive new ones for the sake of x265. There are other sites out there that are x265 exclusive

I take that back somewhat. As the more hated & very less sold & over expensive XBOX does support x265 video but not the common audio that normally comes with x265. So still not a win for snickerdoodle there

I find this conversation to be funny. I have no idea what Non Computer device means, a CRT TV?, my 2001 Malibu and my 2011 Terrain are both capable of playing x265 as well as my non smart TV, my xbox 360, and my PS4. I have yet to find a device made in the last 15 years that I can't make compatible with x265. If you don't understand how to work the tech don't participate in piracy.

Happy holidays! Maybe I've been spoiled or lucky with the devices my friends and family have. I have nothing again x264. Those who need/want it are welcome to it. I still have some movies in x264
Specifically, and I guess how this whole thing started, is that I find RMTeam's encoding parameters for 480p x264 suck. To me those files look like a VHS tape from the 80's, lol. However, if I can't find a movie by RARBG in x265, I'll happily take it in x264.

re-recordable CD (700 MB), to play/watch it on their TV. Maybe I'm dating myself, lol.
