After his death, a damning review found his crimes were covered up by senior Church officials, causing a seismic scandal that ultimately toppled the Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby. The two-part series will investigate Smyth's conduct, how he weaponised faith, it's impact on others and the reasons why his family have decided to speak out now.\n\nEpisode 1 - Smyth launches a covert and brutal regime of abuse in the 1980s in Winchester.
